Scope :  Suitable for household swings, slides, merry-go-rounds, climbing frames, play houses and tents, paddling pools, non-water inflatable toys, when children climb, jump, swing, shake, slide, rotate, and play in them The support frame of these toys remains stationary.

Unsuitable products include :

1. Amusement facilities used in public places

2. Swinging toys with bowed bottoms covered by  EN71-1 

3. Swimming pools with a water depth exceeding  400mm 

4. Toy trampoline

Finger sinking :

Holes ,  slots and gaps in hard materials that are accessible to children during use must comply with :

Children 36 months and older:  7mm  rods are not allowed to extend to a depth of  10mm  unless a  12mm  rod can also be inserted

Children under 36 months: Do not allow a  5mm  rod to extend to a depth of  10mm  unless a  12mm  rod can also be inserted

When calculating the number of children, it is based on a minimum occupied area of  0.36 m2 for children

The inclination angle of any position of the sliding part of the slide to the horizontal plane does not exceed 60 °

A specific load simulating normal use ( with a weight of  12kg  and special dimensional requirements ) is used in the following measurements:

1. Minimum gap between adjacent swing seats and adjacent supports

2. Minimum gap between swing suspension points

3. Minimum gap between swing seat and ground

Impact testing of swing seats has been added to this standard and   EC  type examination of swings is no longer required. The seat of the swing must meet the requirement that the average peak acceleration value does not exceed  50g  .

The structural and design requirements for swing seats have been added , and  the requirements are as follows :

1. The potential impact surface in the direction of movement must be smooth ,  with a width of at least  10mm  and a radius of at least  15mm. The chamfer of the edges must be at least  3mm, and  the angle between adjacent surfaces must not be less than  75 

2. The diameter of the tubular swing seat should be at least  25mm.

Non-inflatable wall paddling pools are  tested with a weakest vertical load  of 25kg  for  5  minutes and  no sharp points ,  sharp edges or small parts . 

For paddling pools with inflatable walls ,  the air plug must comply with the requirements of  EN71-1  for inflatable toys .

Warnings ,  signs and maintenance instructions for paddling pools

1. The swimming pool must have icons indicating mandatory and prohibited behaviors and a text warning.

2. The packaging of the paddling pool must include a warning that even a small amount of water can cause children to drown .  Do not install it on a hard surface.

3. The water in the paddling pool needs to be changed frequently ( especially in hot weather )  or when there is obvious pollution.
